Jungheinrich eyes podium September 24th 2007 Jungheinrich's new CEO claims the company should move into 3rd place behind Toyota and Kion in the global lift truck market this year.
Speaking at the Hamburg launch of its latest hydrostat and ride-on pallet trucks earlier this month, Hans-Georg Frey says the firm anticipates growth of nine per cent and global revenues of £2bn this year, "a record high - we will sell 82,000 trucks this year."
However, Frey admitted a number three ranking was not guaranteed. "We will have to wait and see," he said. Rolling off Jungheinrich's Moosburg plant from December, the new VFH 425-435s IC hydrostats are powered by Volkswagen engines, stack to lift heights of 7.5m and can handle loads up to 3.5tonnes.Available this autumn, the firm's ERE 225 electric pedestrian pallet truck uses 3-phase AC technology for efficient lorry loading and unloading and transporting large loads over longer distances.
With a top speed of 12.5km/h, the truck can transport loads up to 2.5tonnes.Jungheinrich also announced its JetPilot multifunction steering wheel – which, as the name suggests, integrates all major control functions into the steering wheeel – is now in production. It is available as an option for all EFG 425-430 type electric counterbalance trucks.
