AL-Vac adds to lifting portfolio

Lifting specialist AL-Vac has launched a new product to complement its range of mobile vacuum lifting machines. The Mantis vacuum lifter enables the safe handling of kerbs and slabs weighing up to 160kg.

The Mantis comprises a wheeled frame, which is fitted to the AL-Vac Handyman and, with the aid of a hydraulic cylinder, enables the vacuum head to be raised and lowered as required. The hydraulic cylinder raises the height of the lifting head to enable stacked slabs and kerbs to be removed from pallets. Where site circumstances dictate, the main frame member can be lengthened or shortened to make manoeuvring easier.

The lifter's wheels give the unit extra stability and their adjustable width accommodates any operating space restrictions. Operator safety has been carefully considered and the handles, which house suction ‘on’ and ‘off’ controls, are also length adjustable for more comfortable use.
