FKI Logistex to launch four major new products at CeMAT
April 10th 2008

Integrated materials handling solutions specialist, FKI Logistex, will launch four major new products at CeMAT 2008 – a ground-breaking new case conveyor and three next-generation high-speed sortation systems.

The new energy efficient tilt-tray and cross-belt sorters feature a new linear synchronous motor drive system, which improves electrical efficiency and significantly reduces product lifecycle cost, whilst ensuring easy induction into existing systems.

The new high-speed sliding shoe sorter offers throughput rates of 400 cartons per minute or 24,000 cartons per hour. Available in left, right or dual-sided configurations an integrated electric switch at each divert location improves local control.

The new case conveyor system comprises narrow-belt, motorised roller, right-angle transfer and diverter configurations. It offers low installation and in-service maintenance costs. Innovative pressure roller carriages on the narrow-belt case conveyor automatically track and steer the belt, eliminating the need for engineers to adjust tracking manually, whilst a patented band cartridge on the right-angle transfer conveyor allows engineers to replace a damaged roller in seconds rather than hours. The diverter conveyor reduces maintenance with an innovative ‘lift and turn’ wheel assembly comprising just two moving parts, both of which are low-cost and easy to replace. To reduce installation time and cost, new pre-programmed functions in the motorised roller and narrow-belt conveyor system eliminate the need for an engineer to program junctions, mergers and diverts.
