New Ex-rated drum weighing & rotator unit

UK based drum handling expert STS has introduced its new Ex Drum Rotator unit with integral Ex weighing system, said to be the most versatile and accurate on the market.

The drum rotator can handle all drums from 50 to 205 litres, steel or plastic. This versatility is important in being able to meet future needs should the type and size of drum being handled change. "We like to think ahead of what our customers will need and ensure we cater for this in our designs," says Simon Studer, Technical Director at STS.

The weighing system uses 4 digital shear beam load cells to weigh the contents of the drum. The large LCD display is mounted on a swivel bracket, so that the operator can turn the display to the optimum viewing position.

STS designs and builds all its units in the UK. This allows the units to be built to suit customers' exact specifications.

Sale or Return

STS offers a sale or return policy on all its units. "You would not buy a car without trying it out first and we believe the same should be true of drum handling equipment. It's only when you have the chance to try the equipment out in your factory that you know whether it is right," says Colin Jones technical sales director.

STS recently won HazardEx Small Company of the Year 2008 in recognition of its development in the provision of equipment for use in Zoned areas.
