It’s four in a row for Doosan February 18th 2008 After three successful years at the “Archies”, Doosan has made it four in a row by picking up the Fork Lift Truck Association Award for Safety Excellence, 2008.
The industry’s equivalent of the Oscars drew visitors from far and wide, including China, Germany and the US, among the large crowd of forklift truck executives, all vying for the prestigious statuette, modelled on Greek mathematician and philosopher, Archimedes.
Doosan’s safety nomination highlighted the rear grab handle with integral horn. Fork lift trucks spend a large proportion of their time in reverse, which can be hazardous to anyone in the workplace. With the simple addition of an emergency horn, built into the rear grab handle, where it can be reached easily while keeping hands safely within the confines of the truck, the operator can sound an instant warning when necessary; an effective and practical solution to a common problem.
Collecting the award was UK general manager, Tim Waples. Said Tim:
“It’s been another fabulous night for Doosan and a great recognition of the hard work and effort that has gone into developing our latest model range. Safety is, of course, an important part of any materials handling operation, so all in all we are delighted to be here collecting the safety award for the third time in a row and our fourth Archie.”
