Wall to wall heating February 13th 2008 Roofing and cladding specialist, CA Group, has introduced a simple solar gain system for larger steel clad structures such as distribution warehouses which, in conjunction with the AmbiRad Group, can provide a fully integrated environmental solution with the capacity to dramatically reduce both fuel usage and carbon emissions.
SolarWall is steel or aluminium cladding for industrial and commercial buildings that captures warmth from the sun and uses solar heated air to heat the building – in some recorded cases external ambient air has been raised by over 30°C via the system, even in the UK.
Fitted to the south or south westerly/easterly exterior elevations of the building envelope, SolarWall™ harnesses surface solar gain, pre-heating fresh air drawn into the interior through thousands of minute perforations in the cladding. In retro fit installations to existing buildings the pre-heated air is usually distributed throughout the building via a ventilation unit complete with modulating dampers serving perforated ducting. For new buildings the SolarWall installation can be integrated with AmbiRad Group air heating systems to suit a wide variety of applications.
