Doosan launches new GX Series May 21st 2008 Korean forklift firm, Doosan Infracore, has launched a new series of 2 to 3t entry-level gas and diesel models, the GX Series.
The six new models will be available immediately throughout Europe and will compliment the Pro-5 Series, launched in 2007 at IMHX.
With sales of Pro-5 models at record levels, and Doosan continuing to grow with the acquisition of companies such as Bobcat, Doosan executives have looked at ways of increasing Doosan's appeal and increasing brand recognition.
Developing a two tier approach with the addition of the GX Series is intended to allow Doosan greater access to markets currently dominated by what many see as less dependable brands, whilst retaining the company's ethos of 'simple, powerful performance'.
Launching the new GX Series at a special ceremony in Berlin, the head of the forklift business group, Chinwon Park, said the new trucks will include powerful engines and transmissions, offering high levels of productivity and lower operating costs.
Said Chinwon Park: "This is another great Doosan product that is targeted at a very specific sector of the market. We have already had great responses from our early trials of the diesel 2.5t machines in Europe and feel the time is now right to introduce these new machines."
The six new GX models are available with powerful Tier 3 compliant, 3.3 litre diesel engines and heavy duty axle, whilst the gas range comes complete with a 2.4 litre engine and dual element air cleaner.
