Klimate enhances Esca Food’s operation May 21st 2008 UK high speed door manufacturer, Klimate has installed two K2 freezer doors and one Ardent high speed door at Esca Food Solutions’ meat processing factory in Scunthorpe.
After almost three decades in the meat processing industry Esca Food Solutions takes pride in its position as the exclusive supplier of beef patties to McDonald’s UK operations and now tastes the advantages and benefits of the high speed doors by Klimate.
In a food handling environment, hygiene is a crucial factor, therefore Esca’s commitment to hygiene has been further enhanced by these doors as they offer the highest standards of hygiene.
General manager, Gary Drane, from Esca said: "Over the years we have had various industrial and high speed doors installed and felt we were not getting the best value from the investments. When we researched and explored the products currently available Klimate's doors demonstrated the key features we required. We started with just having one K2 freezer door installed to ensure that the product met our expectations. In return we were so pleased with the product and the service that we placed an order for a further freezer door and an Ardent high speed door."
Opting to install the K2 freezer doors, Esca Foods has not only seen an improvement in working environments, but having the latest technology relating to freezer doors also ensures that cold storage freezer temperatures are maintained and the build up of ice around the doors is eliminated.
The K2 uses a fully programmable de-mist system to prevent condensation on the ambient side of the freezer, therefore eliminating any build up of ice which may affect the efficiency of the door and create a hazard for cold storage workers. The de-mist system also acts as an air barrier when the door is open, preventing cold air from leaving the freezer and warm air getting into the freezer and creating ice.
The Ardent range of doors also provides valuable energy savings by minimising heat loss and benefits from low maintenance costs. Due to the simplistic nature of the door and the fact that Klimate engineers are able to train the customer’s own maintenance personnel on the workings of the door, any minimal maintenance work can be quickly and easily undertaken in-house, drastically reducing on-going costs.
Esca Foods' Gary Drane comments: "For us, taking advantage of the key features associated with the Ardent and K2 doors, we have been able to enhance our clean and hygienic environment and provide our cold storage employees with a safer working environment which is a top priority."
Eammon Irwin from Klimate concludes: "With all enquiries into Klimate’s range of products and services we ensure that the customer’s requests are fulfilled and the products and services speak for themselves due to their clear and simple structure."
