Hörmann – every Lidl helps April 27th 2009 Lidl chose Hörmann to take care of all the industrial door and loading bay requirements, both internal and external, for its brand new distribution centre in Newton Aycliffe, County Durham.
The distribution centre spans forty thousand square metres, and includes just about every product from the Hormann industrial range including; sectional dock doors, telescopic dock levelers, dock bumpers and shelters, high speed folding doors, hinged personnel doors, spiral doors and even drawbridge plates.
There has been significantly increased interest in it’s DPU doors as they are not only extremely effective at temperature control, they also provide excellent thermal insulation which has been a big factor in reducing carbon emissions. This is also helped by the fact that, unlike standard doors, these close down deep into the in front of the dock leveler, below ground level, onto an insulated panel, which creates a strong seal.
Hörmann’s Alan Jenkins explained: “The DPU 40 can be adapted to just about every situation and comprises carefully manufactured double-skinned steel sections. Each is 80mm thick and filled with polyurethane foam which provides customers with increased levels of thermal insulation compared to normal sectional doors.”
Lidl were one of the first company’s in the UK to take advantage of Hörmann’s new HSS 6530 high-speed spiral door. The High Speed Spiral door – HSS, is a high speed roller shutter and is a relatively new product for Hörmann and is now offered with insulated lathes that can be colour coated.
