Bendi's decade long deal at DCS July 30th 2009 DCS Europe, a UK top ten wholesaler (Grocery Powerlist 2009) of toiletries and household brands, has operated Bendi articulated trucks in its warehouse facilities exclusively for over ten years. In that time, the trucks have carried out an estimated 2.5 million pallet movements.
The firm appreciates the Bendi's not only because of their space saving credentials, nor the ability to work both indoors and out, but because their design means their closed mast height is just 2.8m, enabling the Bendi's to operate in the low heights of many of the storage areas, which contain mezzanine floors.
Ten years ago, DCS ordered five Bendis, all of which are still operating at the site as part of its now 16-strong fleet. The sixteenth is a Bendi B41HL high lift model which is used by DCS' manufacturing division in its high-bay warehouse. This truck combines all the benefits of the other Bendis, with an incredible twelve metres-plus lifting capability.
"The expertise and support from the Bendi team over the last 10 years has been hugely beneficial," says DCS Warehouse Manager, Jason Maxwell. "Their expertise and in-depth product knowledge has helped us to improve our operations – and our feedback has helped them to develop the trucks. From our initial meetings over ten years ago, through subsequent engineering support and regular service visits, every aspect of our relationship has been more than satisfactory. There has never been any ‘hard sell’, but I guess there’s never been a need as the product and support have always been so excellent."
