Jobs Jim, but not as we known them...
January 27th 2010

A Government commissioned report on career evolution over the next 20 years has predicted odd jobs such as ‘vertical farmer’ (vertical farm pictured), ‘space pilot’ and ‘body part maker’.

Shape of Jobs to Come predicts advances in science and technology and the onset of climate change will radically shake up the job market.

The report declined to mention jobs in the warehouse so perhaps that means they are safe.

However, should jobs evaporate in a future all-automated supply chain, the report also suggests ‘virtual clutter organiser’ and ‘memory augmentation surgeon’ (could be handy after a heavy night out!).

The full list of 20 outlandish future jobs can be found here - http://sciencesowhat.direct.gov.uk/future-jobs/future-jobs-what-might-you-be-doing
