Ambassador takes on Komatsu trucks
October 29th 2010

Komatsu Forklift has re-structured its UK operations as Ambassador Lift Trucks is appointed as a UK importer.

In a year of change, Komatsu has reorganised its UK forklift operations. These plans include strengthening the brand’s electric and IC market share, increasing its UK dealer coverage and introducing new products including its new electric counterbalance range (AE50 / AM50) to the UK.

Key to the re-structuring, Komatsu has appointed Essex-based Ambassador Lift Trucks as a UK importer. Ambassador will be responsible for supporting existing Komatsu forklift dealers nationwide, while focusing on increasing Komatsu’s market share with the appointment of additional dealers across the UK.

On 27 September, Komatsu Utility Company president and CEO Mr Isoda and European general manager Mr Goto visited Ambassador Lift Trucks.

Speaking at Ambassador’s Witham headquarters Mr Goto said: “We are proud to appoint Ambassador as an importer, and we look forward to a successful long term partnership in the future.”

Ambassador’s sales director Trevor De’Ath added: “We look forward to the new challenge ahead; we have an exciting future with Komatsu forklift.”

In addition to growing the network of Komatsu forklift UK dealers, Ambassador Lift Trucks will be responsible for UK sales, after-sales support and the supply of Komatsu forklift spare parts to its dealers nationwide

National sales manager Chris Bunn and service manager Ray Hilton have joined Ambassador from OM who previously distributed Komatsu forklift products in the UK.

Chris Bunn said: “We aim to provide a service to our dealers that we would expect ourselves from a manufacturer. We will offer a high quality product at a reasonable cost.

“We are looking forward to launching the Komatsu AE50 and AM50 electric range to the UK at the beginning of next year.”
