UKWA appoints new Vice Chairman

The United Kingdom Warehousing Association (UKWA) has announced the appointment of John Maguire, sales and marketing director of Flexi Narrow Aisle Ltd, as its new Vice Chairman.

John Maguire will work closely with the Association’s current National Chairman, Derrick Potter, and will succeed Derrick as UKWA’s National Chairman in 2011.

John Maguire commented: “The UKWA has a long and proud history and I am honoured and excited to be given the chance to contribute to the UK logistics industry’s most influential trade association.”

Roger Williams, Chief Executive Officer of UKWA, commented: “We are delighted to be able to draw upon the services of someone of John’s caliber. I am sure he will be a tremendous asset to our organisation.”

John Maguire has held several senior posts within the materials handling industry and is widely known for his warehouse system design expertise. He is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport.
