Linde wins new contract with Steelite
November 18th 2011

Linde Creighton has won a contract to supply Steelite International with a range of forklift trucks.

Based in Stoke-on-Trent, Steelite international manufactures and supplies tableware, cutlery and stemware products to the hospitality and catering industry, across 130 countries.

This win has boosted Linde to the leading position of supplying materials handling to the ceramic manufacturing industry in Stoke-on-Trent already working with Johnson Tiles, Wedgewood Waterford Royal Doulton, Churchill China and Portmeirion Pottery.

Steelite International was looking to improve productivity and efficiency and its new range of Linde forklifts will increase its picking capability by 50%.

Leon Jackson from Linde MH said: “This is a significant order for Linde Creighton and we are pleased to be able to deliver a solution that matched Steelite International’s budget and will significantly boost their outputs. The ceramics manufacturing industry is one of the most demanding environments to work with because of large amounts of heavy dust and product matter.

“Linde is the UK market leader for materials handling equipment and our wide range of products means we can offer a bespoke solution for each customer’s needs.”

Steelite International Ltd purchased a combination of two very narrow aisle combination stackers (K10), four very narrow aisle high level order pickers (V12), five powered, ride-on pallet trucks (T20AP and T20SP) and one, all terrain reach truck (R14G). The order will be delivered in December 2011.

Mike O’Keefe, Warehouse Manager for Steelite International said: “We are delighted to be linking up with Linde for our new forklifts and believe that our relationship will develop in a manner that will benefit both parties. We were also extremely pleased in the way that both Leon and Derek presented themselves, and Linde, as a market leader in their field, in an open and honest manner.”
