CE marking to new standards October 1st 2004
Hörmann UK offers its entire range of manual and power operated industrial doors with 3rd party certification. According to the company discerning specifiers are already insisting on CE marking to the new standards from 1st May 2004 where a supplier can offer compliance and certification. This gives added assurance in terms of safety especially with manual doors, which are not currently covered by the machinery directive.
John O’Brien of Hörmann explains: ‘From the 1st May 2005 CE marking under the machinery directive for both manual and power operated industrial doors will require 3rd party certification by a testing laboratory classed as a notified body. The tests include initial type testing for all the mandatory safety elements of the supporting standards BS EN 12406 Mechanical Aspects.’ More articles from Hormann UK Ltd: |
