Paper handling operation

Port of Tilbury has commissioned Swisslog to supply equipment for a new paper terminal. The project comprises the supply of high-bay racking, robots for the transportation of single paper reels, as well as pallet conveyors and stacker cranes. To efficiently manage the facility, Port of Tilbury will also use Swisslogs software products. Paper reels will be transported to high-bay racking via a 260m long pallet conveyor. Seven stacker cranes will place single paper reels as well as paper pallets into stock and remove them from storage as required. Two ReelPick robots will transport single paper reels to specific locations within the site. Swisslog will also automate paper reel unloading/loading of freight containers.
