Double girder crane with 24m span

Konecranes has won the contract to supply a 40t CXT 24m span double girder crane to Vestas-Celtic Wind Technology's production facility at Campbeltown in Argyll. The crane will have Remox radio and back up pendant controlled festoon cabling, floodlights, anti-collision detection, two step load limiter to minimise the wheel loads on side hook approach, overload protection, disc brakes and limit switches on all motions. It will also feature Konecranes DynA family inverter variable speed control on cross and long travel motions. The CXT hoist has as standard two speeds of operation, hoist and lower limit switches, phase reversal limit switch in case of phase mismatch, and an ultimate hoist limit trip. The crane will be fitted with Konecranes ControLPro condition monitoring to allow planned maintenance downtime and plot the cranes performance over the expected lifetime.
