Major crane supply contract April 1st 2007 FKI Logistex has won a major contract to supply Condor very-narrow-aisle (VNA), automated storageand- retrieval systems (AS/RS) for six new Preferre Freezer Services facilities planned for mid 2007. This prestigious contract, which includes a fixedprice, parts-andmaintenance back-up agreement, involves installation of 42 FKI Logistex Condor cranes, to be manufactured at FKI Logistex plant based in Worcester. This will bring to more than 100 the total number of FKI Logistex Condor cranes in operation in Preferred Freezer's fullservice public refrigerated warehouses. In addition to the new contract, a fixed-price, fullservice, parts-andmaintenance agreement has been implemented for all sites using the Condor system. The contract budgets annual preventative maintenance and provides complete coverage for everyday and predictive maintenance, normal-use parts and emergency breakdown repairs. This provides valuable benefits for the customer as it avoids having to hire and train its own skilled personnel – with FKI Logistex absorbing all responsibility for service and maintenance. The Condor high-bay VNA solution is a hybrid crane, which stores and retrieves pallet-size loads in very narrow aisles. Top-guidance and the fully enclosed, heated cabin enable Preferred Freezer to achieve higher levels of throughput, accuracy and productivity in its freezer storage systems.
