Loading bays meet forthcoming standards February 1st 2004 Crawford Amber has supplied a fully integrated loading bay solution for Screwfix Directs new fulfilment centre in Stoke-on-Trent. The equipment supplied not only has to be able to accommodate a wide range of vehicle sizes, it also has to fully comply with the forthcoming harmonised European standard for industrial doors, which will soon become mandatory in the UK.
Crawford Amber is one of the few companies that can already offer sectional overhead doors that meet the stringent safety requirements of the forthcoming European standard, said Crawford Ambers Brian Copeland.
The company has manufactured and installed 24 dock levellers at the centre, four of which are four metres long to accommodate larger vehicles. At 3.36m, the 542 Series overhead sectional doors are higher than usual, and the dock shelters are designed to suit a variety of vehicle sizes. Two 6m high level access doors were also supplied.
