Protects staff from risk of drive-aways August 1st 2004 Christian Salvesen has installed Castells Salvo safety system across its entire distribution site at Bury, thereby helping to protect staff from the threat of drive-always .
Since warehouse operatives are now given an instant visual indication that loading/unloading can begin, any time previously lost to confusion between operatives and drivers has been recovered.
Drivers arriving at the site collect a Salvo lock from the office while handing over paperwork. Once the trailer has been reversed into the allocated bay, the emergency airline is removed from the bulkhead and the Salvo is fitted onto the airline coupling. The key held in the Salvo can then be removed and is inserted into the electrical switch located next to the loading bay doors. More articles from Castell Safety International Ltd: |
