A special relationship
June 1st 2007

With designs on the USA import market, Meachers Group has won new business with three American companies.

Goodpack, owners and operators of possibly the world's largest fleet of Intermediate Bulk Containers, Butterworth, portable tank cleaning machines and Biofisica, a high tech wound care company are all using Meachers value-added supply chain services. This includes importation through Meachers freight forwarding arm, Oast Agencies, storage in the company's 160,000 ft2 of warehousing and onward movement throughout the UK via Meachers extensive fleet of trucks.

Oast Agencies, which has customers throughout the marine industry, is one of the largest freight forwarding operations in the Port of Southampton. Its expertise on US documentation and management of deep-sea imports has also been key in its success in winning business from Butterworth and other US companies.

Meachers has also begun onward movements for US customers throughout Europe and is also focusing on onward movements to other countries in the world. This primarily involves the management of air and deepsea exports and all associated documentation including the preparation of letters of credit bank collections.

From its facilities in Southampton and Derby, the Meachers Group operates a full range of services including road haulage, warehousing and freight forwarding. Addon services include devanning, palletising and storing as well as picking, labelling and distributing goods to customers throughout the UK
