Group has won new business
with three American
companies.
Goodpack, owners and
operators of possibly the
world's largest fleet of
Intermediate Bulk Containers,
Butterworth, portable tank
cleaning machines and
Biofisica, a high tech wound
care company are all using
Meachers value-added supply
chain services. This includes
importation through
Meachers freight forwarding
arm, Oast Agencies, storage in
the company's 160,000 ft2 of
warehousing and onward
movement throughout the UK
via Meachers extensive fleet of
trucks.
Oast Agencies, which has
customers throughout the
marine industry, is one of the
largest freight forwarding
operations in the Port of
Southampton. Its expertise on
US documentation and
management of deep-sea
imports has also been key in
its success in winning business
from Butterworth and other
US companies.
Meachers has also begun
onward movements for US
customers throughout Europe
and is also focusing on
onward movements to other
countries in the world. This
primarily involves the
management of air and deepsea
exports and all associated
documentation including the
preparation of letters of credit
bank collections.
From its facilities in
Southampton and Derby, the
Meachers Group operates a
full range of services including
road haulage, warehousing
and freight forwarding. Addon
services include devanning,
palletising and storing as well
as picking, labelling and
distributing goods to
