New hub puts PalletFORCE ahead of the game June 1st 2008 PalletFORCE, launched in 2001 as one of the UK's earliest pioneers of palletised
distribution networks and now one of the sector's leading exponents, is opening a new
state-of-the-art hub in Burton upon Trent, Staffordshire, scheduled to go live in early 2009.
Overlooking the A38, one of the
country's major road transport
distribution arteries, the £30
million development has been planned to
PalletFORCE's own specification as the new
flagship for the palletised distribution
sector. The 380,000 square foot site with
its 'single warehouse' concept has been
designed to deliver a bespoke environment
offering faster throughputs, a quicker
turnaround of vehicles and a higher quality
of operation.
The new hub, which can handle up to
four million pallets per annum, represents
a significant increase on the 210,000 sq ft
capacity of PalletFORCE's existing premises.
Commenting on the progress of the
development, PalletFORCE's new Chief
Executive, Michael Conroy explains, "The
Company has grown very rapidly in its
seven years of operation and the new hub
is just the latest step in ensuring that the
brand remains at the forefront of palletised
distribution.
"Already, PalletFORCE deals with over
7,500 pallets per night through its network
of nearly 100 shareholder member depots.
It can handle any sized consignment from
a single pallet delivery through to larger
part loads and customers can choose from
a wide range of services, including UK &
Europe, Next day and Economy delivery
services, 10am, noon & timed options,
Saturday AM, Tail lift vehicles and Oversize
pallet delivery. Tailor made services,
including warehouse and order picking and
dedicated vehicles, are also available. The
new premises will only add to our
considerable scope."
"At its heart, however, all this has been
achieved because, unlike most other
networks, PalletFORCE is owned by its
members with everyone taking equal
interest and responsibility for the success
of the business. A commitment from the
outset to finding only the best transport
companies has paid off, ensuring highquality
service and mutual support
throughout, giving customers absolute
confidence." More articles from PalletFORCE plc: |
