Pall-Ex makes stationary move for ASDA October 1st 2008 ASDA has named Pall-Ex as a nominated
carrier. The network will collect freight
from ASDA's UK stationery vendors,
consolidate at its Leicestershire based
central Hub, then deliver to ASDA's own
distribution centre in Doncaster every
week.
This will mean that ASDA's Doncaster
distribution centre will receive fewer
deliveries of small consignments, which
are crucial to its sales effort, but can slow
the flow of distribution, due to their
irregular delivery patterns.
With total UK and European coverage,
Pall-Ex says it is well positioned to
undertake nominated carrier schemes of
this type, where it collects, consolidates
and delivers small consignments to
customers' distribution centres or even
direct to stores at pre-arranged,
convenient times. Customers improve
efficiency with a smoother flow of
logistics and have a single point of contact
for freight traceability. They also benefit
from cost savings and a reduction in
administration. More articles from Pall-Ex UK Ltd: |
