Palletways invests in new fleet October 1st 2006 Palletways, specialists in the overnight distribution of small consignments of palletised freight, has invested in a fleet of Caterpillar LPG-fuelled forklift trucks to help reduce emissions and improve working conditions for site staff.
The company has replaced existing dieselpowered models at its national hub and distribution centre with 55 new Caterpillar GP25N trucks.
Palletways' decision to choose trucks fuelled by LPG follows a campaign by the Health & Safety Executive (HSE) to encourage logistics companies, to find greener, safer alternatives.
Kath McCann, operation director of Palletways UK, said: "It is very important to us that we strive to provide the best possible working environment for employees whilst minimising the impact of our activities on the natural environment." More articles from Palletways UK Ltd: |
