Putting the brakes on laborious labels April 1st 2008 Witchita's range of clutches
and brakes for industrial,
mining and marine
applications required a
selection of aluminium
labels containing unique
product identification
information. Its labour
intensive method of printing,
sizing and manually fitting
labels needed a solution to
reduce errors and costs.
Sister company, Matrix, was
using Toshiba printers for
sequential labelling, and
after a visit there,
maintenance manager Lee
Moss, contacted Toshiba
who recommended local
supplier ERS.
A Toshiba B-SV4T desktop
printer with Solo software
and bespoke labels was
installed and has reduced
production costs by over
400%.
"The installation was
seamless and the benefits
immediate" comments
Moss. The labelling process
was speeded up from 1 hour
to 2 minutes. Witchita are
now using the Toshiba/Solo
package on 6 types of media
and 27 different labels. More articles from Toshiba TEC Europe Retail Information Systems: |
