UK warehouses full of splat guns June 1st 2008 Paint ball activities in the UK
are growing in popularity
and specialist logistics
company Import Services
has entered into a new
agreement with
international toy
manufacturer Tech Group.
Recently acquired by
Cybergun SA of France,
Exeter based Tech Group is
expecting to increase low
impact paintball products to
toy retailers, e-commerce
and sports shops in the UK.
Additional warehouse
space is required to store the
increase in product lines
being introduced to the UK,
including SupaSplat and the
Inflatable Paintball Shooting
Range due to be launched
this September. The surge in
volume has led to the new
arrangement with Import
Services which has three
multi-user distribution
centres comprising
270,000ft2 within close
proximity to Southampton's
container terminal.
"We needed a major UK
distribution facility because
our Exeter warehouse would
not cope with the level of
growth planned over
the next three
years," says John
Lewis, Tech Group
MD.
"Our products are
imported principally
from the Far East to
Southampton;
therefore we are keen
to work with a company
offering Portcentric logistics
via Southampton Container
Port.
"Import Services has an
excellent record in UK retail
distribution, and they have
the capability to work with
us as we expand."
Import Services has been
voted Best Third Party
Logistics Business 2008 by
the Institute of Transport
Management. The company
provides a full door to door
service. More articles from Import Services Ltd: |
