Meeting current and future requirements October 1st 2006 Motor and fan manufacturer, ebm-papst has selected supply chain software specialist, Indigo Software's, RealTime for System21 Warehousing solution, for its UK distribution centre.
Following recent changes to European legislation, ebmpapst conducted an assessment which concluded its existing inventory and location management systems lacked the functionality required to meet the new standards and maintain customer demands.
European directives regarding ROHS and WEEE have increased the importance of inventory control as a critical part of the supply chain process.
ebm-papst decided to go out to the open market in 2005, to source a new WMS which would provide it with the increased functionality required to meet new legalisation as well as the capability to fully integrate with the host enterprise resource planning (ERP) system – Infor ERP System21 from Infor.
As part of the selection process, ebm-papst invited Indigo to conduct a strategic business review of its processes. Indigo confirmed "Interactive Warehousing" would meet the current and future requirements of the business. More articles from Indigo Software Ltd: |
