Ramping up increased export sales April 1st 2007 Loading and unloading equipment specialists, Thorworld Industries, is reversing the trend for yardramps to be imported into the UK from low-wage economies by capturing increased export business. The Chesterfield-based manufacturer is seeing growing demand for its mobile yardramps from companies in Central and Eastern Europe and the Far East, as well as closer to home from businesses in Ireland. Two 7t Economy range models together with a 10t Deluxe ramp have recently been sold to new customers in Hungary, Lithuania and Poland, and in Thorworld's first ever export sale to Thailand, a 7t Economy ramp has been despatched to a company in Bangkok. Additionally, 7t Economy models have also been supplied to customers in both Northern and Southern Ireland. Thorworld managing director, John Meale, comments: "It's satisfying to know that despite increasing numbers of what are sometimes poorly-built, cheap foreign imports coming into the country from low-wage economies, our top quality ramps are experiencing increasing demand from discerning customers around the world." All Thorworld ramps are CE marked and fully meet all appropriate EU quality and safety standards. More articles from Thorworld Industries: |
