Microlise customers go green
February 1st 2007 Customers who use the Microlise Fleet & Distribution portfolio of solutions are making a definite contribution towards tackling CO2 emissions, resulting in commercial advantage as well as a benefit to the environment. Based on customer reports over the past year, Microlise estimates its customers have used over 4,500,000 litres less fuel than they did during 2005. In many cases, this is despite a rise in the quantity of goods transported. Based on a mixture of vehicle types from 7.5t box vans to 40t articulated lorries, this translates to an estimated reduction of over 14,500,000km in the total distance travelled with resultant reductions in wear and tear on the road surfaces and fleet maintenance . Ultimately the reduction in CO2 emissions amounts to more than 11,500t per year, equivalent to about 9600 people flying to New York and back ! Customers of Microlise Fleet & Distribution typically see a 10 to 15% reduction on fuel consumption due to increased efficiency in the use of their vehicles.
