Telescopic boom to convey all at sea June 1st 2008 A successful UK retailer of
fresh food, clothes and
petrol, has installed four
Caljan Rite-Hite telescopic
boom conveyors in its
350,000 ft2 facility in North
Yorkshire. The conveyors
unload sea containers,
moving goods safely into the
building for palletising,
reducing manual handling.
Height adjustable, they
extend 12.3m to reach the
rear of the sea containers,
allowing workers to unload
cargo comfortably.
The retailer built the
import centre in the North to
improve distribution and
reduce transport costs by
minimising road use.
The four Caljan Rite-Hite
BeltTrack conveyors traverse
between multiple bays on
surface mounted tracks,
providing flexibility and
maintaining cost efficiency.
To accommodate large or
awkwardly shaped parcels,
belt width is 600mm wide.
Metal plates cover the
undersides protecting
employees from the
mechanism. This means the
conveyors comply with the
EN619 2002 European safety
standard.
Caljan Rite-Hite completed
the installation in just a few
days, minimising disruption
to work areas.
BeltTrack conveyors are
easy to use and feature
ergonomic joysticks that
allow workers to adjust the
height and extension. Caljan
Rite-Hite configures BeltTrack
to suit specific customer
requirements. Various
options are available. More articles from Caljan Rite-Hite Limited: |
