Voice solution sounds a success
October 1st 2007 Boyne Valley Group, an
Ireland-based manufacturer
of food, personal and home
care products, has invested
€250 000 in a voicedirected
logistics solution
for its 55 000ft2
distribution centre in
Drogheda. After just six
weeks in operation, Boyne
Valley reports a 20%
increase in productivity and
100% order accuracy.
The voice directed stock
pick system was supplied by
Heavey RF and has at its
heart Psion Teklogix's
Mobile Integration Suite, an
enterprise-wide, single
solution that integrates RFID,
barcode and speech
technology. It offers real
time and batch solutions for
both inside and outside. It
extends ERP and legacy
systems to mobile workers
and integrates ASRS, scales
and PLC sub-systems.
Heavey also supplied Psion
Teklogix's 9160 G2 long
range wireless access points
