Distribution centre is marked December 1st 2006 Floor marking contractor, ASG Services, has recently completed its largest line marking project to date. 11,000m of line marking, 788 characters and digits, 112 floor embedded labels and several hatched blocks have been created at a distribution centre near Workshop. Contractor sbh.uk consulted with ASG Services to supply a durable floor marking and floor labelling system, along with complete installation management. A project on this scale can be extremely complex particularly when considering the number of other contractors on site, working simultaneously. Time periods had to be identified where ASG's line marking teams would have the necessary access required to prepare and install sections without contamination or intrusion. Large areas of the building's floor were cordoned off to facilitate this. The floor marking system is said to be one of the most advanced available, using specially developed machinery and epoxy resin systems. Colour selection was also an important factor for Health & Safety and practical reasons. Two colours were chosen – green to identify areas of pedestrian use, and yellow for block stacking areas and marshalling lanes, since it is also used in road traffic marking as a colour associated with warnings and offers the greatest contrast on concrete floor surfaces.
