Fuel-efficient tractor units December 1st 2008 Acumen Distribution has
invested in five new DAF
XF105 tractor units for its
long-term contract with
Johnson Controls
Automotive (UK). They will
be used as part of Acumen's
Redditch outbound
operation, delivering seating
systems to Land Rover in
Solihull.
The units will provide Just
In Time deliveries to Land
Rover's manufacturing plant,
enabling the seating
systems to be transported in
sequence to match the
production line build
programme. Acquired from
Widnes-based Riverside
Truck Rental on a full
maintenance contract hire
agreement, the DAF 4x2
tractor units have been
chosen for their reliability,
low operating costs, fuel
efficiency and Euro 5
emission levels.
The new trucks form part
of an overall expansion and
investment strategy by
Acumen Distribution, which
has enjoyed a 120% increase
in turnover over the last
financial year.
