Rapak puts the fizz into filling

Rapak says increased output and user flexibility are key benefits of its two Autokap 1210E Fully Automatic Bagin- Box filling machines recently installed in Britvic Soft Drinks’ Leeds factory.

High speeds have been achieved thanks to Rapak’s quick change bag into box loaders, which it claims reduce change-over downtime significantly. The rotating ‘back to back’ load chutes with special ‘quick connect’ technology mean changing from 10 to 20 litre packs can be achieved in less than three minutes.

Each of the Autokap machines is capable of filling 10 litre and 20 litre bags of post mix syrup at rates of 13 and 9 bags per minute respectively. Between them, the two fillers can produce in excess of 4.5 million units per year for Britvic.

Filler operation is controlled by user-friendly Siemens colour touchscreens. This technology gives engineers the flexibility to alter the operational parameters of the machines during production runs.
