Who needs stretchwrap? April 1st 2005 End of line packaging specialists Limpet Tapes reports significant increases in sales of its Lock n’ Pop pallet stabilisation system, partly due to the spiralling costs of stretchwrap, as managing director, Ken mellor explains: “With oil prices at record levels last year the cost of stretchwrap rose on average 20% and with no sign of stability returning, who knows what will happen this year. This has been a significant factor in the increased sales of our waterbased Lock n’ Pop pallet stabilisation system that not only offers improved stability, increased automation and greater environmental benefits but also has remained stable in cost for 2005 with no increase at all.” Limpet says Lock n’ Pop can significantly reduce waste such as wraps, straps and bindings and in some instances eliminate them altogether. Applied in liquid form, it ‘locks’ packaging surfaces together preventing lateral movement of any kind.
However, with an upward lift the surfaces pop apart laving no sticky residue and without damage to either surface.
Lock n’ Pop is non toxic, water soluble and biodegradable and is suitable for use on sacks, bags, boxes or multipacks, whether fabricated out of paper, board or plastic. It does not obscure graphics and there is nothing to dispose of. More articles from Limpet Tapes Limited: |
