Clunk, click for a safer trip April 1st 2004 Since introducing plastic pallets with standardised containers secured by Linpacs seat-belt pallet and lid system, automotive supplier ArvinMeritor has seen improved safety and major economic benefits at its Blackpool Air & Emissions Technologies plant.
John Frodsham, stock controller, says the most immediate benefit comes from the removal of 2.5hr labour each day spent removing shrink wrap from pallets.
The seat belt pallet and lid work in a similar way to a car seat belt, using a locking inertia belt reel mechanism from the pallet to a catch in the lid that securely restrains its cargo during transit.
Up to 25 containers can now be stacked and handled. More articles from Linpac Materials Handling: |
