Labour saving tyre storage has health and safety benefits October 1st 2003 The South East distribution centre of tyre distributor, Stapletons Tyre Services, has been fitted out with a tyre storage structure from Planned Storage Systems.
PSS Stronglock racking was used for the main structure, with suspended walkways and picking aisles supported at two levels. Lift access is available via an end service aisle, which allows tyres from all levels to be easily moved using a specially designed trolley, which holds up to 30 tyres.
Stacking tyres is very labour intensive, said Malcolm Greenaway from Stapleton, but now everything is more condensed and the tyres are kept in an orderly and tidy fashion. There are also many health and safety pluses with keeping the tyres neat and tidy. More articles from Planned Storage Systems Ltd: |
