Carton live storage April 1st 2007 Toyota Manufacturing UK looked to Welconstruct to update its storage systems, chosing to install carton live storage and heavy duty pallet systems. The new equipment will be used on the manufacturer's Auris assembly line and its press and weld facility. Toyota anticipates this will improve space utilisation and aid first-in, first-out stock rotation, in line with its Just In Time production method. Live storage uses live storage beds which are installed within pallet racking frames supported by a universal bracket. Each storage lane contains one product line, this is then placed on the conveyor and travels by gravity to the picking face and main assembly line. Heavy duty pallet storage systems meet the manufacturer's requirements for the safe storage of larger car parts including body shapes and bumpers, and complement small parts storage systems. Welconstruct provides a range of storage solutions in addition to carton and pallet handling. These include automated order fulfilment systems and barcode sortation, partitioning, mezzanine floors, shelving and racking systems. More articles from Welconstruct: |
