Picking/despatch conveyor system

When office consumables distributor, ISA Trading, opened an RDC to service the Greater London area, they approached Kaybe (Conveyors) to install the picking/despatch conveyor system.

ISA and Kaybe had already collaborated on a number of projects, including the main NDC in West Yorkshire.

Basing the design on the existing ISA ‘pick and pass’ operation, the system comprises a lineshaft powered roller conveyor, which enables picking to start from a mezzanine, with totes being allocated to picking orders by the PLC Control System, via a unique barcode located on the side of the tote.
