Operating upgrade ensures reliability
October 1st 2003 Latch and access hardware specialist, Southco, has improved order fulfilment thanks to an upgrade to its existing storage and retrieval carousel at its distribution centre. Diamond Phoenix completed the original installation, which comprises six horizontal carousels and two operator work stations with light directed picking control, in 1996.
The carousels handle 80% of the centre throughput, so keeping them running is critical. To ensure reliability, the systems operating software has been upgraded to the latest version of the Diamondware operating programme. More articles from System Logistics (Incorporating Diamond Phoenix ): |
