Bulk and fast turnaround storage
February 1st 2007 The onward movement of some 1.25m individual units per week makes the new Coop national distribution centre in Coventry one of the largest installations of its type in the country. At the heart of the facility is an extensive Link 51 pallet racking installation that is meeting the twin needs of bulk and fast turn-round storage. The design provides almost 40,000 pallet positions – 7000 of which are used as picking locations. Link 51 has also incorporated a secure storage area protected by a combination of mesh screens and electronicallyoperated roller shutters where specific products such as aerosols can be separated and safely contained.
