Protection from the weather October 1st 2008 Pro-Dek Storage Systems
has completed two external
racking installations with
integral weather protection
for Boys and Boden, a firm of
builders merchants operating
in Powys and Shropshire.
The installations at the
company's Welshpool and
Shrewsbury premises, that
have provided some 1500
linear metres of storage, are
part of a continuing
investment programme
designed to protect timber
stocks from the weather at
all its sites.
Pro-Bolt cantilever racking
with integral roof canopies
from Pro-Dek was chosen as
a cost-effective solution that
provided space for large
quantities of timber to be
stored under cover on a
relatively small footprint and
also allowed material to be
accessed quickly and easily
as required.
The installation at
Welshpool measures 33m
long x 13m deep x 6.8m
high, while the Shrewsbury
installation measures 29m x
22m x 6.8m. The vertical
columns have three arms on
each side measuring
1220mm long and designed
to support 1000kg each.
Sideloaders are used to
handle the timber at both
sites, allowing aisle widths to
be standardised at 2660mm. More articles from Pro-Dek Storage Systems: |
