Defending champion wins Wimbledon February 1st 2009 The All England Lawn Tennis
and Croquet Club, home of
the Wimbledon Tennis
Championships, have one of
the most challenging
logistical operations to
perform each year: Half a
million visitors in a fortnight.
Nothing can be left to
chance; replacement
equipment and parts or
engineers have to be
available on site for 24
hours of every day. This
means that much of the
equipment is held in storage
when not in use, and due to
ongoing development, the
Wimbledon facilities team
opened a new warehouse at
Chessington lst year. It
chose Racking Protection
Management to supply and
install RackCare's racking
and mezzanine upright
protection, and the firm
fitted RackDefenders to the
PSS racking uprights; the
RackDefender being an
attached protector
specifically engineered to
suit individual racking types.
The RackDefender
provides high energy
absorption and dispersal
qualities together with an
impact indicator strip which
may be reset following
inspection. The
RackDefenders were
positioned to protect both at
low level and also at
500mm.
In addition RPM also
supplied its 'big yellow
column guards' for the
mezzanine floor supports.
These consist of large low
density polyethylene air
filled guards again offering
very high levels impact
absorption.
"We are very pleased with
the installation," says
AELTCC's John Cox. More articles from RackCare Ltd: |
