Time is money in the world of
logistics – either in terms of costs
saved or revenue earned – and the
ability to respond to growth opportunities
or resolve crisis points quickly and
efficiently are vital business attributes. As a
result, temporary structures specialist De
Boer reports massive growth in longer-term
rental solutions. The company puts this
down to its reputation for delivering
projects on time and on budget in often
challenging environments.
Multi-nationals such as IKEA and Shell
have turned to De Boer to solve their space
problems. Over the past 18 months the
company's structures have been used as High
Street supermarkets, warehouses, baggage
handling facilities at international airports
and even a food processing plant after a
permanent building was destroyed by fire.
In October this year, the firm's
Commercial Division supplied two large
structures to DHL's National Distribution
Centre at Daventry International Rail Freight
Terminal, Northamptonshire, to provide
urgently needed additional space for bulk
storage.
De Boer's construction team was on site
and commenced building within three days
of the contract being signed with
installation taking just two days plus a
further two days to fit electronically
operated roller shutters – a bespoke item
provided for DHL.
"There really are no limits to the uses
that our temporary structures can be put to
- and when we talk about long-term rental,
we really do mean long-term," says De
Boer's Commercial Division sales director,
Robert Alvarez. "In our initial discussions
with DHL we looked at a variety of
solutions, proposing both our six metre
high Delta systems that provide clear
internal working heights and an alternative
option that could have remained in place
for 20 years. The client's preferred solution
offers them immense flexibility as we can
add to the facility or make adaptations
during their two-year hire period."
An example of De Boer's confidence in its
product range is its own Brackley HQ,
situated within one of its double-deck Delta
systems while equipment is stored in one
of its own temporary warehouses. More articles from De Boer Structures (UK) Ltd: |
