Voice-directed distributionDecember 1st 2004
WHSmith's 210 outlet travel group has deployed Vocollect’s Talkman T2 voice terminals in its central distribution centre.
Specialist Vocollect partner VoiteQ completed rollout of the Vocollect voice-directed distribution system for 50 WHSmith users on the warehouse floor. The new voice system integrates seamlessly with WHSmith's WMS, via VoiteQ's proprietary VoiceMan software solution.
The Talkman systems are used in place of paper lists, allowing pickers to receive instructions via their headsets, resulting in a smoother operation. Implementation is reported to have immediately raised accuracy levels at the site to 99.9%.
