Automated deep freeze warehouse June 1st 2007 Keymas-Egemin UK has
installed equipment to
automate a deep freeze
warehouse at Ouwehand,
operating at temperatures
as low as -28°C.
Egemin AGV's transport
the goods from production
to the deep freeze tunnels.
The transition from a normal
climate in the production
halls to the extremely low
temperature makes manual
transport virtually
impossible. The deep freeze
warehouse has a capacity of
8,000 pallets divided over
six aisles and these are
loaded/unloaded by two
aisle-changing cranes.
About 500 products are
stored, each with their own
batch numbers. Pallets are
automatically conveyed
from the deep freeze
warehouse to the order
picking room by transfer cart
supplemented by roller and
chain conveyors. The
refrigerated warehouse has
a limited number of
products stored in 1,200
pallet locations, which are
automatically stored and
retrieved by means of crane
order picking from dynamic
live storage More articles from Keymas Limited: |
