Oversailing floor
September 1st 2010 Chicken & Sons Cyclekit has
expanded its storage capacity with
the installation of an oversailing
floor which uses the full height of its
storage and distribution facility in
Leighton Buzzard, Bedfordshire.
Chicken Cyclekit sources and
provide goods to serious cyclists in
the UK from component suppliers
around the world, Following
investment in IT and logistics the
business has grown, hence the need
for increased storage space.
Having installed Chicken Cyclekit's
original standard R3000 shelving
system, SSI Schaefer was called back
in to design and quote for a standard
'traditional' mezzanine floor.
Aaron Thornton, at SSI Schaefer,
who suggested the oversailing floor,
explains: "Providing a flexible
oversailing floor removes the need to
invest heavily in a fixed solution that
can be limited when adjusting to
future business developments or
expansion plans."
The oversailing floor was
welcomed for its adaptable structure
and easy dismantling frame and
installed with ease onto the existing
