Secure storage, tiny footprint April 1st 2009 Cargo Automated Storage
Systems has installed a
second turnkey design lift for
CNC Precision turning
company, Qualiturn Products.
To maximise storage
space, the lift is installed
behind an access port on a
mezzanine floor. The unit is
the smallest made so far by
Cargo, being 2m wide and
just 0.6m deep.
The Cargo Lift is a
computer controlled vertical
lift, storage and retrieval
system. On command the
lift transports selected items
to and from the operator,
improving productivity,
increasing picking speeds
and reducing costs, with
trays that can move
vertically up to
2.3m/second. The built-toorder
lifts are available in
heights of 5 to 20m, and
widths of 2 to 3.6 meters.
"We wanted to securely
store our machine tooling
while maximising storage
space," says Qualiturn MD,
Nick Groom. "The Cargo Lift
has an excellent security
system. No unauthorised
personnel can access goods
stored, and the biometric
security system negates the
use of passwords." More articles from CARGO Automated Storage Systems: |
