Silicon implant boosts drum

Limited of Haydock, St Helens,
Merseyside has introduced a fibre
drum lined with silicon.
The company says: "The new lined
fibre drum pack is no mere cosmetic
improvement. Instead, the silicon
lining is designed to facilitate the
storage, transportation and use of
bitumen or adhesives."
The bitumen or adhesive is
poured into the new silicon-lined
drum at a very high temperature of
around 120 degrees centigrade then,
when released as a solid block,
emerges cleanly without any residue
due to the silicon's excellent release
properties.
The lined drum technology is
designed to provide customers with
the best of both worlds by
combining high performance and
