Vertical lift powers to space savings
September 1st 2009

Power company E.ON has taken delivery of a TowerMat Vertical Lift storage system from Couzens Storage Solutions to make more efficient use of space and improve stock management of high value metal alloy bar. The machine will give Power Engineering Services, E.ON's turbine repair and refurbishment facility in Hams Hall, Birmingham, capacity to store up to 140,000kg of metal bar on a footprint of just 30m2, and will provide advanced software and improved stock management systems.

As well as storing all current stock and freeing around 250m2 of workshop space, the new installation will allow the company to consolidate stocks from other workshops around the country, saving further space and possibly reducing total stocks held.
